The “biocoloniality of power” and social movements in Latin America

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2017. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The concept of “biocoloniality of power” reflects the current logic of the capitalist system in its neo-colonial form. The role of multinational corporations and local elites is crucial in the socio-political and ecological conflicts taking place in the Global South. Indeed, these conflicts demonstrate the antagonism between classes on the one hand, and the anti-imperialist and anti-colonial struggle against heteronomous modernity on the other. We intend to examine the environmental issue, including socio-environmental conflicts, in the Latin American context.
