Remembering to age better

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2025. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This study aimed to determine the impact of cognitive stimulation workshops on various psychological variables in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Forty-eight participants, divided into three groups (control, memory workshop, and reminiscence workshop), completed questionnaires on the following: 1) self-concept clarity; 2) anxiety and depression; 3) loneliness; 4) subjective well-being; 5) self-esteem; 6) and reminiscence functions. Participants attending the memory workshops performed better on all variables compared with those in the control group (ps < 0.05). The reminiscence workshops proved even more effective than the memory workshops across all variables (ps < 0.05), except for the overall reminiscence functions score, where the reminiscence group only differed significantly from the control group (p = 0.009). These results underscore the value of reminiscence-based interventions in the care of patients suffering from AD.
