This literature review is divided into four parts: a presentation of the history and current debate regarding contextualization and IM theory; a summary of how IM supporters define and describe the theory; the opposition and scientific debate aroused by the IM paradigm; the conclusion will argue the existence of a significant gap in the current IM literature, namely, the lack of empirical field research.
