Rorschach Indicators in the Severe Obesity Clinic: Intercultural Comparison Between France and Turkey

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2025. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This study aims to investigate the psychological profiles of severely obese patients seeking bariatric surgery using the Rorschach test. Conducted as a Franco-Turkish collaboration, the research compares results against the respective norms of both countries to discern cultural differences and similarities in Rorschach indicators. The projective test was administered to 102 French patients and 25 Turkish patients undergoing evaluation for bariatric surgery. Protocols were double-blind analyzed by two psychologists following the scoring system proposed by the French school. This cross-cultural comparison highlights a psychological functioning marked by rigidity, characterized by a tendency to resort to concrete thinking to cope with affect and anxiety. Based on these findings, the authors suggest a reconsideration of therapeutic approaches and propose several research perspectives.
