Hatred of the human condition: Posthumanism as antihumanism

The term “Posthumanism” refers to a group of works that seek to “enhance” the capacities of the human being, together with the ideology that justifies them. Its proponents define it as an accomplishment of humanism, since they do not explicitly challenge the values of democracy. This article shows that posthumanism in fact amounts to a radical antihumanism, and which driven by a hatred of the human condition, tends towards no less than a biotechnological departure.
