Mediated memories: life stories of digital objects
Type de matériel :
35
This article explores mediation actions between objects and humans, using the concept of digitally mediated memory. We consider the theoretical foundations of three intersecting fields of study: memory and technology; mediation and information use; and the mediation of memory through digital objects. We conclude that digital objects are inscribed both in ephemeral-fluid and persistent-stable media. These objects circulate to form individual, collective, cultural, social memory, through processes of valorization, preservation, elimination or recycling carried out by knowledge and memory institutions.
