Teaching Here, Learning There: Reflection on the scope of a linguistic and cultural exchange community in Saudi Arabia

This paper presents an experiment conducted from July 2019 to the beginning of March 2020 in a non-institutional linguistic and cultural learning community in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The issue considered is the following: can we speak of an official teaching and learning situation in such a context? Through a qualitative study, which is more of a human adventure than a laboratory experiment, we reflect here on the teaching and learning taking place in such a non-institutional community and we measure it against the concept of “didactics”.
