This article examines the mediatization of bodies and food on Instagram. We carried out content analysis of a dozen Instagram accounts. Our results show that the staging of bodies and food on Instagram echoes public health policies implemented in France as of 2001. We explore the ways in which dietary norms are disseminated by new “cultural prescribers” in the domain of food and health. Such norms are materialized through fit and thin bodies; these representations seek to impose both aesthetic and moral standards in order to change eating behaviors.
