Le présent article est construit sur les résultats d’une recherche de terrain menée au sein d’un dispositif de semi-autonomie, accompagnant des mna. Il s’attache à illustrer les tensions existantes dans le travail social, entre plusieurs couples notionnels tels que les rapports protection/autonomie, liberté/contrainte, consentement/injonctions institutionnelles et émancipation/normalisation. Il s’agit alors de comprendre la manière dont ces rapports constituent des paradoxes qui conditionnent l’accompagnement proposé et imposent ainsi un véritable questionnement éthique sur les objectifs du travail social, sa finalité et ses méthodes. Dans cette même perspective, l’intérêt est d’interroger le rôle et le positionnement du professionnel dans ces processus.

This article is based on the results of field research conducted in a semi-autonomous program for unaccompanied minors. It aims to illustrate the tensions existing in social work between several conceptual oppositions such as protection/autonomy, freedom/constraint, consent/institutional restrictions and emancipation/normalization. The authors then seek to understand the way in which these terms constitute paradoxes that are a determining element of social work support and thus impose a real ethical challenge to the objectives of social work, its purpose and its methods. In this same perspective, the aim is to question the role and the positioning of the professional in these processes.
