In line with grounded theory strategy, the following procedures have been identified: 1) culture as a way of living through the crisis in escapism and the search for meaning, 2) culture as an explanation of what is happening through scholarly-sounding rationalization, a fictionalized past, and stories of heroism and adventure, and 3) culture as resistance, demonstration of solidarity, and position formation.
