On the Temporary Organization of the Entrepreneurial Process: Applying a Project Metaphor to the Study of Entrepreneurship

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2012. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : In this paper, we intend to contribute to the development of constructionist perspectives on entrepreneurship by outlining a view of the entrepreneurial processes as temporally, spatially, and socially distinct interactions and, metaphorically, as projects. More specifically, we will revisit and expand on our earlier research on the application of a project-based view of entrepreneurship (Lindgren and Packendorff 2003). We will outline the basic ontological, epistemological, and axiological assumptions of social constructionism and process thinking and then discuss the notion of the project metaphor as a basis for studying the temporary organizing processes in entrepreneurship. We also present examples of observed and theoretical themes that emerge from our empirical analysis of a sample of four organizations.
