RésuméEn qualité d’éducateur, on peut être surpris par la popularité dont a bénéficié le film Scarface de Brian De Palma auprès de certains jeunes, notamment ceux habitant des espaces paupérisés. Le personnage principal « Tony Montana », joué par Al Pacino est souvent sublimé par ces derniers, jusqu’à être érigé en modèle de réussite.Ce texte a pour ambition de mettre en parallèle une fiction cinématographique et le quotidien d’un « jeune banlieusard » pris dans l’étau de la consommation de produits. Le jeune Ali habite en effet son héros avec démesure, jusqu’à en légitimer son addiction et se retrouver sur le ban(c) de la cité.

Chronicle of a youngster who took himself for ScarfaceAs an educator, one can be surprised by the popularity that Brian de Palma’s film Scarface reached among certain youngsters, namely those living in poor places. The main character, « Tony Montana », played by Al Pacino, is often sublimated by them, to the point of being turned into a model of success.This text aims at drawing a parallel between a cinematographic fiction and the daily life of a « suburban youngster » trapped in the spiral of substance abuse. The young Ali lives his hero to the extreme of legitimizing his addiction and finding himself (dis)placed on the community bench.
