Portons notre intérêt au mariage, rite instituant l’entrée à l’âge adulte. Les enfants de migrants tamouls circulent entre des représentations multiples. Du mariage d’amour au mariage arrangé, du mariage traditionnel au mariage moderne, du mariage homogame au mariage mixte, du mariage obligatoire au mariage accessoire… Quelles stratégies d’alliance vont-ils mettre en place pour se structurer tout en articulant les différents mondes auxquels ils appartiennent ? L’analyse qualitative par la méthode complémentariste d’entretiens menés auprès de jeunes femmes franco-tamoules montre que les choix matrimoniaux sont respectueux de chacun des mondes d’appartenance en étant créatifs et métissés. Ainsi, les stratégies d’alliance reposent sur un subtil métissage entre filiation et affiliations.

Let’s focus on marriage, rite establishing entrance into adulthood. Tamil migrants’ children move along multiple representations. From love marriage to arranged one, from traditional marriage to modern one, from homogamous marriage to mixed one, from required marriage to optional one… What alliance strategies will they manifest in order to articulate the different worlds to which they belong ? Qualitative analysis by complementarist method of the interviews made with young women shows that Franco-Tamil matrimonial choices are respectful of each world of belonging, by being creative and crossbred. Thus, alliance strategies seem to be based on a subtle blend between filiation and affiliations.

Nuestro interés se enfoca en el matrimonio como ritual que instituye la entrada en la adultez. Los hijos de migrantes tamiles circulan en medio de múltiples representaciones. Desde el matrimonio por amor hasta el matrimonio concertado, desde el matrimonio tradicional al moderno, del homógamo al mixto, del obligatorio al accesorio. Qué estrategias de alianza pondrán estas jóvenes en práctica para estructurarse, articulando, al mismo tiempo, los diferentes mundos a los que pertenecen ? El análisis cuantitativo por medio del método complementarista de entrevistas llevadas a cabo con estas jóvenes franco-tamiles muestra que las elecciones de matrimonio son respetuosas de cada mundo, siendo creativas y mestizas. De esta manera, las estrategias de alianza reposan sobre un mestizaje sutil entre filiación y afiliaciones.
