Dans cet article, nous explorons l’articulation entre deux démarches : l’innovation frugale et l’effectuation. Nous soulignons les points de convergence qui existent, comme leur gestion des ressources, leur rapport à l’incertitude et leur inscription dans un écosystème. Nous proposons de considérer combien les contextes des pays en voie de développement ou pays émergents, peuvent rendre la combinaison des deux approches fructueuse. Pour illustrer cette idée, nous nous appuyons sur les pratiques des makers au sein des FabLabs, qui parviennent à favoriser l’ empowerment et l’innovation multidirectionnelle dans des environnements contraints.Codes JEL : F20, O31, O33

Frugal Innovation, Effectuation and FabLabs: Some Practices to Combine for a New Approach to InnovationIn this article, we explore the articulation between two approaches : frugal innovation and effectuation. We highlight the points of convergence, such as their management of resources, their relation to uncertainty and their integration into an ecosystem. We consider how the contexts of developing countries and emerging countries can make a combination of both approaches successful. To illustrate this idea, we draw on the practices of makers within FabLabs, who manage to promote empowerment and multidirectional innovation in constrained environments.JEL Codes: F20, O31, O33
