Type de matériel :
46
If our own real death is unknowable, neurological disease confronts the elderly subject with their anticipated loss, causing shock and anxiety. This without-sense will be woven into the imaginary and the symbolic orders, and may quickly become trauma. This trauma is established at the heart of the symbolization process involving fantasy and the way in which death and aging are inscribed within the social field. Death then becomes visible in its imaginary and symbolic valences.
