The sporting use of public spaces raises the issue of the meaning given by sport practitioners to urban forms, defined either as spatial structures or as space external envelopes. The displayed formal structures combine dynamics of polarization and a reticular organization of spaces used for practice. These public places are no neutral supports. Sporting uses and the sociability they convey are influenced by their linear form. The meanings of these forms first derive from sport practitioners sensitive perceptions. They have very specific ways to see, hear, smell, and even touch the city. These representations also have a symbolic dimension: the representations of nature, patrimony and landscape artificialness play an important part.
