Each practice has its own building blocks, full of ideals. While at first they may be benevolent, they can rapidly become harmful. This is the case with palliative care, a practice underlined by the ideal of “wanting the best for others,” as well as by an ideal of what a “good death” is. This article aims to question these professional positions that claim to know what is best for other people.
