The author shares her experience as a clinical psychologist in a shelter for unaccompanied migrant minors. Death is omnipresent on their migratory journey. How does confrontation with the unrepresentable affect their psyche? The clinician presents their post-traumatic symptoms, as well as the effects on caregivers, to encourage a reflection on what could help patients to heal. The author suggests building an authentic and committed therapeutic relationship, aiming at the rehumanization of the patient.
