Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The question of colonisation, ever present in our collective memory, nevertheless receives only marginal attention in our historical studies, despite new generations of specialists and research topics. This contrasting landscape leads us to question the characteristics of this field of study. The analysis focuses on three periods – decolonisation, the 1980s and the contemporary period – introducing the controversies as well as the research areas that are opening up. How can the question of colonisation be incorporated into a highly French-oriented discipline and develop discussion with foreign researchers, especially those from the “South ”, regarding our increasingly common history?
