The gender pay gap: An analysis of internships undertaken by management students
Type de matériel :
40
Gender pay equality is extensively documented throughout the career. It is interesting to study what happens in the stage that immediately precedes the first job, namely during the final year internship. This proposal aims to analyze the impact of gender on the internship compensation of management students based on the analysis of a sample of students, studying in a French School of Management. We highlight the existence of a gender pay gap during the internship, propose a model to explain internship compensation, and break down the gender pay gap according to the Oaxaca-Blinder method. We discuss our findings and provide recommendations for future research and practice.
