In 1939, after the Spanish Civil War, the government of General Franco was faced with the need to create a model of women much more in line with the national movement of the Spanish Falange. Thus will be born the concept of the Blue Woman, a new female model which is directly opposed to those who had previously. In the search for that new woman, Franco’s Spain will need a fashion that represents the values of the new nation, as opposed to French fashion.
