Self-healing and the body-mind relationship: Construction of a theoretical framework and case study

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2022. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The aim of this article will be to pave the way for a future societal research project on the representations associated with the concept of self-healing and the body/mind relationship. For this, a theoretical framework will be established and used during a case study. The methodology used will consist of a qualitative and comparative textual analysis of the language used by four scientists in four works on the notion of self-healing and the body/mind relationship. Four angles of analysis will be addressed: 1) the scientist’s perception of the body/mind relationship; 2) the scientist’s perception of the limits of the field of action of self-healing; 3) the scientist’s perception of the role of medicine in care; 4) an evaluation of the author’s modern or postmodern sociological roots. It appears that the scientists studied have a similar perception of the body/mind relationship, mobilizing common explanatory theories. However, their perceptions concerning the fields of action of self-healing and the role of medicine in care could differ according to their modern or post-modern sociological roots. It will therefore be important to take this analysis further by examining larger numbers and different audiences, in order to define the representations associated with the concept of self-healing, which will also be characterized.
