Bringing into derision, despising, pointing out the insignificance are the characteristics associated to derision, which make it a powerfull tool of social judgement, of unwinding and aggression but also of innovation. In fact, by protesting we affirm ourselves and we oppose to existing codes in order to propound new ones. But the interest of the question of derision comes also from the ambiguity of its effects. Derision could be considered as a necessary breathing inside existing frames in order to better strenghten them. Derision is, in this case, a catharsis.
