Thinking through a care program for joint mother-child hospitalization

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2016. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The Mother and Child Hospital for the East of Paris took in six pregnant women and seventeen mothers with babies aged between 0 and 12 months for hospitalization. Care was on a full-time basis, so as to attend to patients during the first stages of the parent-baby relationship. This care was provided in the context of psychological, somatic, or addictive vulnerabilities on the part of the baby and/or parents. The psychological, sociological, and educational support provided was co-devised by a multidisciplinary team along with the family, and included taking into account aspects of the family’s psychological and social reality, as well as the resources and constraints of the professionals involved. We illustrate this meticulous work of bonding with one particular clinical situation involving a hospitalized teenage mother and her newborn child.
