Dechronicization and lifting of inhibition: The case of the Gerville pavilion
Type de matériel :
3
For several years now, psychosocial rehabilitation has been an established part of chronic patient care in France. Yet it seems unable to offer anything to the most severely psychotic patients who do not respond to its rehabilitation and re-education programs. Assuming a psychodynamic approach to psychosis and a therapeutic project for these patients, the Gerville pavilion, a psychiatric aftercare facility for severely affected chronic psychotic patients, offers dechronicization care and the lifting of psychotic inhibition for so-called deficit patients. A clinical vignette illustrates this work.
