The children of immigrants are frequently exposed to more than one language from a young age. In order to better evaluate them with all their linguistic skills and to adapt care for them accordingly, it is necessary to use adapted tests. To date, the Avicenne ELAL is the only test used to evaluate the language skills of plurilingual children. The transcultural validating of this test in Soninke involved going to Mauritania and meeting monolingual children. The analysis of these language findings has given us inroads into the cultural influence on language development in the children of Soninke immigrants, along with the means of transmitting the mother tongue.
