Vague English words crop up as leitmotifs; thought is impoverished; another worldview asserts itself. This Anglomania is not just a fad: it is rooted in the rapid evolution of technology, the immediacy of modern forms of communication, and the advent of globalization. A lingua franca known by all should pave the way for mutual exchange; instead, it leads to Anglo-American cultural domination and the shrinking of information sources. Other languages risk disappearing or being heavily infiltrated by English influence. What can be done?
