This article sets out to reflect on the “Utopia of the possible” offered by a solidarity economy. This Utopian dimension took root in the Renaissance, gained strength in the 19th century, and reappeared with the resurgence of the last 20 years of the 20th century, when it could no longer see itself reflected in the traditional economics of society. This Utopian dimension takes the form of a horizon that recedes the nearer one approaches. It’s an Utopia which provides the driving force of a thousand experiences proliferating everywhere in the attempts to conceive of new ways for economics and society. It really does consist in a Utopia of the possible, one that wants to become a Eu-topia or locus of well-being, and to take its place amongst the players who desire to transform the world.
