This article sets the framework for a professional ethic of CPE within the school community. After having identified the conditions of legitimacy of such an ethics in moral philosophy, it marks the specificity of the position of the CPE body and analyzes how the function of “council”, related to the moral world, introduces an ethical orientation with a view to an emancipation of the subjects by the realization of a formation of oneself led like a “coherent life”.
