Management and sports federations: Attempts to rationalize local sports provisions and the expression of associative strategies in the French Tennis Federation

Faced with the various changes in demand and their environment, federal sports bodies are led to enter into strategic managerial reasoning. The French Tennis Federation, in an attempt to introduce a process of progress within the associative fabric in its functioning, has thus marked its entry into the managerial era. Using a strategic analysis model, this article proposes to study the local repercussions of the French Tennis Federation’s strategic mode of management and to introduce, in a more global sense, avenues of managerial reflection to accompany the evolutions of sports organizations in a federal context.
