In Jordan, the practice of academic historiography relies on a specific mechanism for conservation and classification, and for making the archives available. Archival materials are stored in accordance with principles of scholarship that are determinant of the amenities of access, reading, and interpretation. Access to the archives presupposes a know-how restricted to experts, solely endowed with providing an authorized interpretation.
