La meilleure clé d’interprétation du processus synodal ouvert en 2021 et conclu en 2024 pourrait être celle d’un apprentissage qui implique toute l’Église catholique. L’articulation des différentes phases du synode en rend compte. Elle permet de percevoir des inflexions importantes quant à l’équilibre entre théologie du baptême et théologie des ministères, ainsi que dans la conception de la catholicité ecclésiale. La véritable dimension théologique de cet apprentissage devient sensible lorsqu’on la situe dans le long processus de réception du concile Vatican ii. C’est à cette aune que les possibles suites du synode doivent être évaluées.

The best key to interpreting the synodal process opened in 2021 and concluded in 2024 may be that of a learning experience involving the entire Catholic Church. The articulation of the different phases of the synod reflects this reality. It highlights significant shifts in the balance between baptismal theology and the theology of ministries, as well as in the understanding of ecclesial catholicity. The true theological dimension of this learning process becomes evident when placed within the long reception of the Second Vatican Council. It is in this light that the possible outcomes of the synod should be assessed.
