Documentary innovation in Amiens, between creation and adaptation (end of the fourteenth–beginning of the fifteenth century)

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2019. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : At the turn of the fifteenth century, the production of records of the city of Amiens (as far as its present archives reveal) underwent profound changes. Facing shifts in its institutions and tighter control from the King, the municipality renewed its practices of producing and conserving official written documents. During this gradual and lasting renewal, Amiens created new solutions, such as a register of statutes. This was coupled with carefully planned and executed innovations in adapting outdated systems to new requirements: for instance, adjusting existing conservation practices to keep the accounts and registers of deliberations, and changing the old cartulary by structuring it into three new ones.
