The communist movement of Tunisia, composed of the Communist Party of Tunisia and of organizations linked to the population, was notably active under the French protectorate. Two of the most famous of these associations, created at the end of the Second World War, were exclusively composed of women. They focused their activities on female-related issues and enabled an increasing number of women to join the communist movement.
