Little explored in France, the concept of “discoverability” has been defined and studied in Quebec to understand how our cultural choices are oriented and what strategies are deployed by cultural industries and policies to preserve diversity in the jungle of the internet in the face of GAFAM’s economic power. Quebecois researcher Michèle Rioux explains the methodology adopted based on the presence/visibility/recommendation (PVR) trinomial, while recommending certain approaches.
