IntroductionMolar protraction can be used in several clinical situations. It provides a useful service to the patient, such as by making it possible to replace an implant, or in cases where a patient’s molar is in unusually poor condition for their age. Material and MethodIn this article, the authors describe the different molar mesialization systems in the vestibular multi-attachment technique, outlining the biomechanics of each.DiscussionThe introduction of mini-screws into these practices has made it possible to improve anchorage management, which is essential for this treatment. However, mesialization is not always offered, depending on the patient’s or orthodontist’s wishes. ConclusionThe different biomechanical situations analyzed each have their own characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages. A methodical reflection must lead practitioners to choose the system that is most suited to them, according to their experience level and practice, in order to implement this treatment for their patients’ well-being.
