This article examines the relations between mercy and the Eucharist and their impact on the life of humankind in the work of saint Augustine. The first part shows how the divine mercy governs the action of God in all stages of the Incarnation, especially in the cross and the Eucharist. The second part illustrates the relations among mercy, Incarnation and the Eucharist by the two images of milk and bread brought out by Saint Augustine. The third part displays the response of humankind to the merciful action of God in the Eucharist.
