A Particular Form of Passage to the Act: Swindling and Its Links to Narcissistic Seduction
Type de matériel :
57
The psychological literature dealing with swindling is rather scarce. Certain psychoanalytical concepts make it possible, however, to address the psychodynamics encountered in these very particular delinquents. Furthermore, these same concepts invite the clinician to reflect upon what might be relevant diagnostic criteria. One central element seems to be a problem of narcissistic seduction where money functions as a fetish in a relationship of complicity which is created between the swindler and his victim. The resulting pleasure entraps the swindler in a position of challenge to social values.
