“Young graduates”: The power of a union categorization
Type de matériel :
71
The contemporary term of “young graduates” ( jeunes diplômés) is the product of a relatively old categorization, developed since the 1920s by groups of engineers and managers in order to preserve their hierarchical positions in a constantly changing economic system. The term contains an elite demand for access to dominant positions in favor of holders of academic titles. Its power is such that this categorial semantics has been in circulation for nearly a century.
