At the European level, France is, in the field of perinatality, in a middle position that is important to analyze in order to construct a better perinatal policy. Within each country, shortcomings can be highlighted, and some countries have made an explicit choice to reduce them. In order to reduce them, they must first be identified. The data needed to evaluate our practices are missing or dispersed. Although the organization of perinatal care has not failed in the last forty years of successive plans, its objectives have often been unrealistic and have not kept up with the times, in part because of insufficient evaluation of our practices. While the inequalities of results in the field of perinatality continue to increase, it is essential to objectify them. Improving the use of tools that would allow the collection of indicators to monitor these inequalities should be one of the objectives.
