Inga Römer offers an interpretation of the course The Metaphysical Foundations of Logic (from Leibniz) taught by Heidegger in 1928. This set of lectures focused on a Heideggerian rereading of Leibniz through the lens of a metaphysics of Dasein approach split into two parts: fundamental ontology and metontology. Römer reconstructs the metaphysics of Dasein that Heidegger elaborated in this course, before using it to evaluate Heidegger’s appropriation of Leibniz’s theories. The author formulates a critique of the metaphysics of Dasein in relation to Heidegger’s metapolitics during this period, proceeding then to the issue of the significance of Heidegger’s conception for the current revival of the problem of metaphysics.
