Today, entrepreneurship has the potential to empower and transform (Morris and Kuratko 2014). Entrepreneurial ecosystems are emerging as an economic development strategy based on creating support for the environment and fostering innovative new companies (Spigel and Harrison 2017). For this reason, universities around the world have integrated entrepreneurship ecosystems into their organization. Such is the case with the Liaison, Innovation, Development, and Application of Knowledge (VIDA) ecosystem at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico, and with the Pôle Entrepreneuriat Étudiant de Lorraine (PEEL) at the Université de Lorraine in France. This paper analyzes the data from the Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students’ Survey (GUESSS) of selected variables from both Mexico and France. Descriptive statistics, contingency tables, and test statistics such as Chi2 and Gamma are used. A comparison is made of how these ecosystems work in both countries. It is concluded that VIDA should take on the measures implemented by PEEL as an improvement strategy.
