Social entrepreneurship and inclusive innovation in the Mexican context: The case of the Asociación Unidos por Zimapán A.C.

The aim of this article is to analyze the Asociación Unidos por Zimapán A.C. in Mexico, which has developed a series of social projects and inclusive innovations. The research question is what are the organizational characteristics that allow the association to shift the modes of production of the communities it works with toward alternative and innovative schemes? When studying this type of partnership in Mexico, the aim is also to contextualize the importance of social entrepreneurship and inclusive innovation. The research methodology is qualitative and based on an in-depth case study. This organization was selected because it makes it possible to identify the mechanisms by which entrepreneurship and innovation develop in marginalized communities in Mexico.
