Return of the Languedoc “No” to the European Constitutional Treaty
Type de matériel :
51
This article analyzes the result of the referendum about European constitutional treaty in Languedoc-Roussillon. While the regional political elite was massively favourable to the latter, 62 % of the regional citizens have voted against the European treaty. The extent of this negative vote, and the evolution between two ballots (European referendums 1992 and 2005), requires the successive assessment of the socio-economic, demographic and political variables as they contribute together to explain such a result.
