What remains from the actuality of the world, if our experience of it is not based anymore on the world of things as an in-between what relates and separates us, but on online networks? As the slogan ‘Make an impact!’ expresses quite concisely, today only the fantasized impact of ‘Me’ on the world can confirm that ‘I am Me’ and worldly actuality is replaced by the impact of myself which alone can maintains a sense of actuality. The-Poetry-Slam-Personality and The-Big-Picture-Personality appear in that frame as two online expressions of ‘Me’ replacing the worldly actuality. The emotional intoxication exhibited by The-Poetry-Slam-Personality lets the ‘whole world’ participate in all of his/her activities through a continuous mise-en-scène of his/her person; The-Big-Picture-Personality wants the whole world to know that he/she is the only one who can show ‘the whole picture’ (while the ‘herd’ believes lies). In fact, neither of them seems to be really interested in a shared experience of the world. This paper regards online searches of making an impact as a symptom of worldly actuality which seems to be lost today.
