From traditional to contemporary hypnosis, hypnotherapy has evolved by way of greater permissiveness and by the more active role given to the patient. Hypnotherapy can be considered from other theoretical viewpoints such as the theory of chaos. The task of the therapist is thus to facilitate his patient’s self-organized dynamics on the verge of chaos. Out of this confusion, creative changes towards the rearrangement of his existential components are able to emerge.
