Over the last few years, we have seen a growing clinical demand for people with compulsive sexual behavior. Faced with this particular problem, it is essential for practitioners to adopt a kind attitude towards the patient. The therapeutic alliance allows the addict to express himself freely and to gradually relieve himself of his feelings of shame related to his addictive sexual behavior. Thus, the clinician can evaluate the addictive practice and propose a diagnosis. Depending on the severity of the disorder and the presence of factors of vulnerability and maintenance, different therapeutic strategies can be put in place and proposed to the patient. According to the current scientific literature, cognitive and behavioral therapies appear to be an indication of effective care for sexual addictions.
