This paper discusses the insertion of a psychoanalyst in a pluridisciplinary research group. His function was to work with the testimonies of 46 of the 15,000 Bolivian retirees following their 100 km march to defend their meager pensions. Halfway along their journey, the police intervened brutally at two o’clock in the morning while the retirees were sleeping in the village of Calamarca. The police’s goal was to stop them from reaching the capital and to force them to return home. The purpose of this research was to discover what aftereffects the retirees experienced due to the repression.
