The author underlines some structural problems in the psychoanalytic approach to social life. She then presents an analytical group whose theme was centered on conscious and unconscious conflicts between Jews and non-Jews in German-speaking countries. A close interaction between the individual and his social context is observed. The infantile neurosis is laden with the after effects of social images related to family history. As in all neuroses, reality is deformed since it is caught up in the world of fantasy.
