Regaining Humanity’s Central Place: Ruyer’s Cosmology

The plurality of species is thus transcended by the access to a world of values, unified by a Sense of senses. Not wanting to occupy the central place means breaking with the basic requirements of humanity. Anti-speciesist violence is therefore neither altruism extended to every sentient being nor humility, but rather resentment against a situation that is not one of power but of responsibility.”
